Get the same Security and Compliance Tools but Avoid Paying the Full Microsoft 365 Enterprise Price!

Does your organization have security and compliance needs, but you aren’t ready to pay for everything in the Microsoft 365 E5 Suite? 

This past February, Microsoft added new advanced security and compliance offering bundles to their price list. These packages are great for businesses who are not yet ready to use or to pay for the highest-end Microsoft365 E5 bundle – which runs at $57 per user. The new Identity & Threat Protection and Information Protection & Compliance offerings are designed to provide customers with a bundle of solid functionality without breaking the bank. These new bundles give customers a smaller set of features at a smaller cost. If your business is not quite ready to make the leap to a larger bundle, these new security and compliance bundles may be the right choice; get the features you need without paying more for other features you won’t use right now.

Microsoft is not removing any of the security or compliance features currently included in Microsoft 365 E5 bundle. Deep Dive into the New Bundles

Identity & Threat Protection ($12 per User)
This new package brings together security value across Office 365, Windows 10, and EMS in a single offering. It includes best of breed for advanced threat protection services including:

  • Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) P1: Cloud-based email filtering service that helps to protect your organization against unknown malware viruses by providing zero-day protection. It also includes features to safeguard your organization from harmful links in real time.

  • Office 365 Threat Intelligence: A tool used for Security tracking and compliance purposes by providing insights into malware and phishing attempts in email, as well as end-user behavior. This includes features such as broad visibility into attack trends, integrated data from external cyber threat hunters, proactive security policy management and intuitive dashboards with drill-down capabilities. A huge benefit to this tool is the Attack Simulator – this allows you to run realistic attack scenarios in your organization so you can identify vulnerable users before a real attack hits your organization.

  • Office 365 Cloud App Security: This gives you insight into suspicious activity in Office 365 so you can investigate potentially dangerous situations and take action if need be. You will receive notifications of triggered alerts for unusual or suspicious activity and can also see how your organization’s data is being accessed and used within O365. You can suspend accounts that are exhibiting suspicious activity and/or require users to log back into O365 applications after an alert has been triggered.

  • Azure Active Directory Premium P2: Includes all features of Azure AD Premium Plan 1, which includes support for self-service identity, access management, administration of dynamic groups including self-service group management, as well as Microsoft Identity Manager which is a suite of on-premise identity and access management tools. Plan 2 includes this with the addition of Identity Protection, providing management of conditional access to apps and critical data, as well as Privileged Identity Management which enhances management of privileged accounts tied to administrative access to resources.

  • Microsoft Cloud App Security: This gives you visibility into your cloud applications and services, provides sophisticated analytics to identify and combat cyber threats, and enables you to control how your data travels. The robust capability instantly enhances incident response efforts by providing a combination of in-depth visibility into user activity and automated governance actions based on defined policy. Minimal setup and out of the box detection make this a quick win for security administrators and incident response teams, and also includes the ability to manage and monitor non-Microsoft SAAS based applications.
  • Azure Advanced Threat Protection: A cloud service that helps protect your enterprise hybrid environments (both your on-premises network and cloud identities) from multiple types of advanced targeted cyber attacks and insider threats. You can monitor users, entity behavior, and activities with learning-based analytics, Protect user identities and credentials stored in Active Directory and Provide clear incident information on a simple timeline for fast triage.

  • Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection: Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) safeguards your organization against malicious threats posed by email messages, links (URLs) and collaboration tools. ATP includes: threat protection policies that you define for your organization, reports monitoring ATP performance, and actionable insights help identify, prioritize, and provide recommendations for addressing potential threats such as phishing and malware and proactively securing your organization from attacks.

Information Protection & Compliance ($10 per User)
This new package combines Office 365 Advanced Compliance and Azure Information Protection. It’s designed to help compliance and IT teams perform ongoing risk assessments across Microsoft Cloud services, automatically protect and govern sensitive data throughout its lifecycle, and efficiently respond to regulatory requests leveraging intelligence. This includes:

  • Office 365 Advanced Compliance: This tool integrates machine learning, predictive coding, and text analytics capabilities; ultimately helping achieve the goal of reducing costs and resolving challenges that come along with sorting through large quantities of data. It reduces the volume of data by eliminating duplicate files, reconstructing email threads and identifying key themes and data relationships. It also enables users to train the system to intelligently explore and analyze large, unstructured data sets and quickly zero in on what is relevant.

  • Azure Information Protection Premium P2: Includes all the features of Azure AD Premium Plan 1, which includes support for self-service identity, access management, administration of dynamic groups including self-service group management, as well as Microsoft Identity Manager which is a suite of on-premise identity and access management tools.
