The new client will work with both Skype for Business Online, Skype for Business 2015 and Lync 2013. 

Anonymous Joining Through the Skype for Business Web App

As a meeting organizer, you can invite anyone who can connect to the Skype for Business web application. Attendees can join anonymously regardless of operating system.

System Requirements

Skype for Business on Mac clients requires OS X 10.11 (El Capitan)  or OS X 10.12 (Sierra). In order to take advantage of Outlook integration, Mac build 15.27 is required. Skype for Business supports the new Skype for Business Server 2015 or existing Lync Server 2013. Schedules, contacts, and meetings in Lync 2013 will all carry over to Skype for Business.
